This morning I had a blast talking with my former co-workers, the Mojo in the Morning show on Channel 955 in Detroit. Mojo had me on doing my Donald Trump and Caitlyn Jenner impressions. Mojo recently said he would be running for mayor in a Detroit suburb, Royal Oak, and wanted advice for running his campaign. Who better to talk to, than a Donald Trump voice impersonator, er- I mean, Donald Trump? Here's how the call went down:

I was recently a guest on "The Mitch Albom Show" on 760 WJR in Detroit--Not only as Donald Trump, but myself! It was fun talking to old friends and co-workers on the air there. I even threw in some local reference to the Trump jokes I used. And here's the bonus: Mom and Dad both listened and said they enjoyed it.
You know, being a voice actor, and recording voice-overs for a living, "recording" becomes the operative word. You get comfortable knowing you can record a take, then another, then delete, and record a voice-over again if you're not happy with it. That is not the case with live radio. You live in the moment. It's happening NOW. You have to commit. Even when you make a mistake, you have to own it, and keep plowing through. Well, fresh off my CNN experience last week where I was featured in a report about people who do Donald Trump impressions(and in my case, people who make "How-To" videos about doing Donald Trump voice impressions) I called into the "Mark in the Morning" morning radio show on 100.3 The Sound in Los Angeles, where Mark wanted to congratulate me on my new publicity. But this was a staged bit, where instead of saying thank you as myself, I responded with 21 celebrity voice impressions. It was a lot of fun, and I thought I'd share the video of that phone call from my end of the line. Hope you enjoy it! Did you have a chance to watch "I Am Cait" Sunday night on E! ? Well in case you didn't, My Caitlyn Jenner voice impression has been promoting it pretty hard on the radio. In fact, I blatantly give out so much detail(which we've completely made up because we don't watch it), my impersonation of Caitlyn Jenner basically tells you what happens in each episode. Take a listen for yourself, when I called up the "Mark in the Morning" radio program in Los Angeles on 100.3 The Sound: Earlier today, Former President Jimmy Carter revealed in a short statement that he has cancer. Our thoughts and prayers go out to President Carter and his family. I was fortunate to have the chance to speak with him over the phone during a radio interview, shortly after he won his Nobel Peace Prize in 2002. He was very kind with a quick wit, and an excellent sense of humor. Here's an clip from that radio interview that aired on the Mojo in the Morning show, Channel 955 in Detroit: A poll released yesterday shows Donald Trump leading all Republican candidates in the race for the GOP nomination for president. And believe it or not, he's sharing some of the credit as to how he got to the top. Well, actually my Donald Trump voice impression is the only one sharing credit. I can't imagine the real Trump doing the same. Here's a fake press conference referencing the poll, featuring my Trump impression. My old friends and co-workers Mojo and Spike from Channel 955's Mojo in the Morning show in Detroit re-aired the phone scam I did for them on the Shinola Watch company, using my Bill Clinton impression. It was fun to hear it on the air again. You can take a listen by clicking here, or just click the player:
Good news for former President George H.W. Bush. He was released from the hospital today after suffering a fractured vertebrae in his neck last week at his home in Maine. He was said to have been cracking dirty jokes for the nurses who were caring for him. Sounds like he's on the rebound. We can only imagine how it all went down at the time of the accident...the call for the ambulance...who made the call? Perhaps a voice actor or celebrity voice impressionist could simulate it for us. Yes, that's a wonderful idea. Here's an exaggerated dramatization using both my George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush voice impressions, written by the very talented and funny, Andy Harris: I always remember Dana Carvey talking about what it was like meeting President Bush, and doing the impression for him in front of him. A nerve-wracking adrenaline rush, I'm sure. The closes I ever got was talking to George W. Bush on the phone, doing my impression(okay, my impression of Dana Carvey doing his impression) of George H.W. Bush. Here's how that went down: David Letterman temporarily came out of retirement over the weekend to perform a Top 10 List, slamming GOP Presidential Candidate Donald Trump. Since Mr. Trump hasn't responded in a significant way yet, I thought it would be fun to have him get back at Dave, using my impressions of Trump, David Letterman, and Paul Shaffer. My friends at Mark in the Morning, on 100.3 The Sound in Los Angeles agreed. Jimmy Carter has been in the news recently, not only for marking he and former First Lady Rosalyn Carter's 69th Wedding Anniversary, but for comments he made regarding same-sex marriage. I'll never forget the time I was given the chance to speak to President Carter. He was very entertaining and had a great sense of humor. Here's my brief encounter with our 39th President, both as myself, and using my impression of Bill Clinton: Rumors have been swirling in recent days saying that Tom Cruise may be leaving the Church of Scientology. Of course, they're just rumors, but what are people on the inside saying? We can only guess...through my voice impression of Mr. John Travolta. Here's what he, I mean, I, had to say about it on Mark in the Morning, 100.3 The Sound in Los Angeles this morning:
Donald Trump is starting to lose his television edge. First Univision cut ties, and now, NBC/Universal. Trump has fired back saying he will sue Univision, and now, NBC. This has kept me very busy with my Donald Trump impression. In fact, it was just a month ago when I was wondering what I would do without my stand-by David Letterman voice impression. Needless to say, I've gotten over my grief. Here's a few things I have done recently with Trump.
Brian Williams will no longer be the anchor of NBC Nightly News. Instead it is reported that he will work in some capacity at their cable network, MSNBC. He sat down with the Today Show's Matt Lauer to answer questions. He said his ego clouded his memories of the stories he told, and made him embellish his retellings of them. Wow, I wonder if that explanation works when he lies to his wife? At any rate, what would Brian Williams sound like on MSNBC in his new role? We can only guess...and parody it using my Brian Williams impression: Special thanks to Andy Harris for his funny brain.
Donald Trump makes a big announcement on Tuesday June 16th, and we can only guess what it might be. I used my Donald Trump impression to have some fun with Mark in the Morning on 100.3 The Sound in Los Angeles (Mark Thompson, formerly of "Mark & Brian" on KLOS), beating the real Donald's announcement by a day. Whatever we end up hearing from Trump, it will be huuuuuuuuge.
Donald Trump is no stranger to controversy. When he makes some news, albeit a controversial tweet or some comment in a speech, my Donald Trump impression is ready and waiting for people to use.
