Let's all be safe out there this Thanksgiving. Hopefully, your time at the airport is tolerable!

I never want to be the guy who over-promises and under-delivers, so maybe that's why I've never had an exact tally of how many celebrity voice impressions I do. But for the purposes of this demo, here's 68 celebrity impressions I was able to do, before reaching for a throat lozenge. It's an entertainment stat that kind of blows my mind: The film "Mrs. Doubtfire" turns twenty today. Released by Twentieth Century Fox on November 24th, 1993...right around the time I started my very own voice-over career. I remember it so well, especially the scene where he meets with the social worker to prove he has gainful employment. I could relate so well with, "I do voices."! I don't know about you, but when I'm in CVS Pharmacy, I've noticed that there is a lot of stuff to waste your money on, beyond the high cost prescription medication and toothpaste. The store end-caps(those shelves at the end of aisles that feature merchandise on sale for a limited time), are rarely stocked with something unique. Until yesterday. Yesterday, I found tiny 6-inch tall replicas of vintage microphones. I LOVE vintage microphones! These were ones you can use on your laptop for Skyping or whatever. Now, I already have a microphone for that purpose, but when I saw this, I thought "Oooh! Knick-knack for the studio." I also thought, "Oooh, my wife will make the repeated point that I'm the spender in the relationship." At any rate, sometimes a trip to the drugstore makes for a pleasant surprise. |
