Recently I had the pleasure of hooking up with a digital media design company called Oddboy out of New Zealand. They have created a fun mobile game app called Jrump, which has generated a lot of buzz around the world. features a futuristic Donald as president in 2017, set in a post-apocalyptic Earth. I guess you can tell which way the politics sway with this game. All that aside, I did the voice-over for the video to promote the game, using my Donald Trump impression. Special thanks to Tom Bellamy of Oddboy for inviting me to participate. This game looks like it will be yuuuuge. You can watch the promo video below:

Thrillist, a site for lists of all kinds, has compiled a list of the best Donald Trump impressions of the 2016 Presidential Election Cycle. It was released a couple months ago, but I happened upon it during a Google search of myself(admit it, you do it too). I was pleased to see that out of 35, I ranked #10. Now, full disclosure, it does start out as a tongue-and-cheek list. Jeb Bush doesn't do a Donald Trump impression for a living. But when they got to me, I was flattered at what they had to say: "As far as voice-work is concerned, it's tough to beat Harthen. His Bill Clinton is near flawless, too -- even HRC loves him." A big thank you to Sean Fitz-Gerald for including me among some very talented people, sans Jeb Bush.
Well, he may or may not have married one in the latest episode of the animated web series from Univision, Heads of Space. Episode 10 was just released to the public on YouTube. What? you haven't seen the first 9!? I guess it's time to for you to play some catch up! In the series, I provide the voice impressions of Donald Trump, Bernie Sanders, Ted Cruz, and in Episode 10...The Greenies(as they prefer to be called)or Aliens on Mars. If I'm talking over your head, start at the beginning and come back when you're done. You will love the quality animation and very funny dialogue between characters. And I must say, Rosemary Watson does a killer Hillary Clinton impression if I do say so myself. It's good work for a voice actor if you can get it, and we've been fortunate to partner with the people at Plop TV. Feel free to take a look at Episode 10 right now if you like! (PARENTAL ADVISORY: Hillary drops an F-Bomb at the 3:16 mark) I've been doing voice-overs for and working with the good people at PlayKids and Movile for a couple years now, and couldn't be more impressed with the content they are creating for children. Animated learning videos, Apps, Games, DIY videos for crafts and a lot more coming soon. Recently, I voiced some more scripts for the ongoing "SuperHands" series. One included a how to video for an Olympic-themed game in time for the festivities in Rio. Here's the video: You can find more of the SuperHands How-To Craft videos on Youtube here.
Caitlyn Jenner's Reality Show Gets Cancelled, and Caitlyn Jenner impressionists are Totes Sad8/17/2016 Caitlyn Jenner's Reality Show, "I Am Cait" is not returning for a 3rd season. Now, I've never watched an entire episode. But in all honesty, being a Caitlyn Jenner voice impersonator, I have studied parts of the episodes. They were a good reference for me, and helped me learn the voice(pitch, cadence, mouth position, all of it) and get the impression down. Most people who do voice impressions or imitate celebrities will tell you: having the people you do impressions of "in the news" and "top of mind" is almost as important as doing the impersonation itself. Knowing Caitlyn, it won't be long before she finds a way into the spotlight again. Here's my Fierce phone call as Caitlyn live in Los Angeles, with "Andy & Gina in the Morning" on 100.3 The Sound: Hillary Clinton has released her tax returns, and is challenging Donald Trump to do the same. Trump has said repeatedly that since he's currently being audited, he can't release them yet. Will it ever happen? Bill Clinton would like to hope so. And, he's upping the ante by naming specific deductions Hillary had on her returns. Did you hear some of them? Watch this video as my Bill Clinton voice impression lists them: Donald Trump has said that he wants to debate Hillary Clinton "very badly", but he has a few conditions. Watch this video for his debate "wish list" of conditions: GOP Presidential Nominee Donald Trump was in Detroit on Monday, speaking to the Detroit Economic Club. Ahead of the speech, I used my Donald Trump impression to call in to the "Mojo in the Morning" show on Channel 955. I was even able to do a little sparring with Mojo's opinionated co-host, Spike. Here's how that call went down: I can't tell you what fun it has been, waking up and calling Mark in the Morning with my celebrity voice impressions a few times a week for the past year and a half. It was the kind of radio I started out doing, back when I was in college and I called up radio stations out of the phone book, trying to get on the air. And Mark was one of the few guys who would ever break the fourth wall, and tell me how he enjoyed it afterwards. A real treat for a performer. I realize business is business. But Mark Thompson is one of the most generous, classiest, and professional broadcasters in the business. Mark, you will be missed by me, and all of the voices in my head! Here's our last call together from this morning... Check out my phone call into the Mark in the Morning Show, as I talked with them using my Bill Clinton impression live on the air of 100.3 The Sound in Los Angeles: Former President Bill Clinton gave a very personal account of his wife in many different respects on night #2 of the 2016 Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia. For me, his keynote speech was yet another chance to study the man I've been studying for the last 24 years. Watching hours and hours of footage and listening to every small detail of his speech, delivery, enunciation, dialect, articulation, and everything else that goes into learning how to do an impression of someone. It's not something you arrive at one day and you're done. I think voice impressions evolve over time, just like Bill Clinton has evolved for me. His voice is older now, and so is mine, so we've kind of grown together in that respect. It has been a long journey, but when it comes to doing voice impressions, I really believe that you can never stop getting better! Here's a video that showcases some of the people i've gotten to do my Bill Clinton impression for on the air during my time with Mojo in the Morning in Detroit: And here's probably my most favorite encounter with a celebrity as I performed my Bill Clinton impersonation: Speaking with the first Female Nominee for President of the United States, Hillary Clinton: This week, Donald Trump selected Mike Pence, the staunch conservative Governor from Indiana, as his Vice Presidential nominee. But how exactly did "The Donald" make his selection? Take a listen to this radio call where I explain it, as I do my Donald Trump voice impression for "Mark in the Morning" on 100.3 The Sound in Los Angeles: Well, some questions are better left unanswered, but I couldn't resist exploring this with a parody bit I created for the Fourth of July holiday. Take a look(maybe after you've had a beverage or two) and be sure to have a safe and happy 4th! Oh, and here's a bonus video just in time for your celebration with fireworks! An important safety message from Bernie Sanders: Unless you've been avoiding all forms of media, you've heard about the recent rollover car crash Jay Leno experienced while filming his television show, Jay Leno's Garage. The whole thing was caught on camera, and the good news is, Jay walked away from it, unscathed! If you've ever had the chance to meet him in person, you know what a nice guy he is...always willing to take pictures and sign autographs. I had a once in a lifetime personal encounter with Jay Leno that you can read about it in my blog. Here's Jay--I mean, my voice impression of Jay Leno, calling in to "Mark in the Morning" on 100.3 The Sound in Los Angeles...with a couple surprise guests chiming in too! You would think that if Hillary Clinton has become the presumptive Democratic Nominee for President, then her rival Bernie Sanders would start winding his campaign down and offer his support to her. That is not the case. In fact, Bernie released a statement saying how superdelegates still have time to change their minds on Hillary. In the meantime Sanders is turning on his "After-Berners", speaking with even more gusto and passion. I've even tried recreating some of it for you, using my Bernie Sanders impression. Take a look at the video from a call I made to the "Mark in the Morning" radio program as Bernie, on 100.3 The Sound in Los Angeles. Lots of criticism surrounding Donald Trump's Trump University as of late, and I used my Donald Trump impression to defend the university live on the air in Los Angeles for Mark in the Morning. Well, sort of. |
